The communication system on this project is not very helpful at all! The Publish It! Bookmarklet hasn't allowed me to add content to my paper for over a week. Adding RSS Feeds etc or any content has been totally screwed up! Before you could just go in and add the RSS feeds, lists etc. Now you have to muddle through to figure it all out. Everything in my paper right now has nothing to do with what I set up.
It takes forever to get a response from whoever is administering this site. I put in a support question way back in April and still haven't gotten an answer. I put in a support ticket about the the Publish It problem and haven't heard anything other than we'll get back to you, we're still new and don't know what we are doing, more or less answer.
I will wait a couple more days and then I'll decide whether your paper is worth my time and effort.
So far I haven't seen any benefits.

This thing is not working I changed the hash tags from twitter refreshed the paper still showing the same hash tags anyone else have the same problem

Is there any support at all for this thing? I cannot find a support link other than this comment box. My paper does not fetch the articles I want and they don't appear under "All Articles" - I only have 3 showing up, so I'm quite sure.

Please would you tell me how to cancel my requested newspaper. I do not want to continue with it.
I added this newspaper on a whim and having looked at it, I feel that it is not for me - it will take up far too much time I would like to cancel it please.
I think there is something fishy going on as I post things and they are correct but find other things I would never publish on my paper and it seems to be a deliberate attempt to discount and worthy news stories to the contrary . and can any anyone explain to me how to allow RSS Feeds to post to my paper
I should have commented from this account.......there's an other problem....I can't choose what twitter account to login to. It just automatically chooses my last "twitter" login, not my "paper.li" login .
Just checked in my paper today for the first time in awhile.....still nothing I tweet shows up no matter what settings I change. Useless......I've started tickets from back in March/April. It never gets fixed although I've sent detailed info to their tech support. Nothing more then a novelty.......I give up.
Have had a similar situation on my JuiceVeggiesHealth paper, where instead of all the articles deal with cancer and juicing for health, the articles are all about politics, battles, wars, crime, hate etc. Not good, since I already embedded this paper on my blog page and sent a press release out with it to over 5000 ppl. :)
It's bad - wasted days on this trying to get it to work - thought it would be nice to publish latest blog posts etc but it just doesn't work. Even tried the bookmarklet - that doesn't work either - add the RSS feed and it says it's in content but nothing appears - given up -nice idea but don't have time to waste on trying to get what should be a very simple service to work
I want to use my paper to publicize my site (groovyPost.com) . Yesterday I used the bookmarklet to makes sure much of the content would be from my site. Today I woke to find that not a single story from groovyPost was in the paper. Nearly all the articles came from Toms' Hardware alhouigh I have 25 sources and manually added a dozen stories via the bookmarklet.
Is there a way to freeze the content that will be apearing in he next edition? If not, you have to make this your top prioority. If publishers have no control over what appears and doesn't, then a paper becomes useless.
Here are some suggestions, which I'm also putting into a ticket:
Add a freeze/unfreeze button to the other editor's buttons for each story. The freeze would not only keep the story in the paper, but keep it in the position (headlines, other topics, etc.) Paper.li could add new story but not touch the frozen ones.
Add an unfreeze all button to be used when the publisher is creating the next day's paper and needs to clear out the old news.
It would be EXTREMELY helpful it Paper.li each day produced a list, with the first paragraph, of all the stories it has found that meet the criteria from all the established sources, sorted by topic.. The publisher could go through the list and check the ones that he wants to appear. .
Please make this happen>
I had the same problem with the paper. Support tell me that when it updates you lose eveything. It's like you never bothered with bookmarklet or upgrading articles to the top of the page.
Here's what i decided to do - I stopped promoting by clicking the foghorn button. Now i just leave it as it is, don't hit update and manually let Twitter followers know when I'm ready. I just hope they see what I put together. It would be good to save to archive but I think archive just saves the last thing you updated on a particular day. It's not ideal.
Support have come back to me quite quickly though.

I'm not with the company, but I can tell you that I had a source (mindtools.com) that was producing so much more content than my other sources that paper.li chose to use that content proportionally. I solved this by adding a few words to the filter for that source and the content diminished greatly. I hope that helps.

I submitted a ticket for this already, but while waiting (hopefully not too too long), is anyone else confused about the update paper function? Paper.li gives you the ability to add new content from their search function (nice) and from the bookmarklet (nice) and then arrange them as you wish (nice) but when your paper-update time rolls around it ditches your chosen headline (no joy) and other articles (no joy), scrambles the content (no joy) and adds new content that I didn't review (no joy). It's seems as if I have to set the update time to something that I can reasonably certain no-one is awake to read it and hurry-up and fix it (no joy).

Hello! I was really excited about joining the Paper.li community until I discovered that my curated content keeps on ONLY feeds one source. There is no intuitive way to fix this issue. I do not want my paper to look like I only pull from one source. Is there a way to fix this issue or is there something I should be doing? Otherwise I am going to have to delete this account. Very dissatisfied with this issue.

Hi Todd, thank you for your request.
To your questions / suggestions:
1. Paper.li goes back 24 hours (or 7 days respectively for weekly papers) and fetches content based on sources. We then go through our analysis, sort, filter and select the most relevant articles, video and images based on our process ( up to 250 articles, 50 video and 100 images) and render them on your paper.
Note: Before our platform enhancement (18th of May) we only fetched approximately 1000 tweets for a period, and that would be divided amongst the amount of content streams. Content was far more limited in nature. Now we allow for a richer blend of content, however content tweaking in terms of filters or repositioning may be necessary.
Placing content: The headline and featured articles ( first 5 articles in headlines area, and 3 articles for each category) will always be populated by the content in your 1st priority content stream. If there are not enough articles in the first priority stream, we will populate from the 2nd stream, and so forth.
So when the first priority stream is e.g. your home timeline and you follow a large number of people, your headlines will always be populated by this. Thus content found for other streams will be pushed to the section pages, or in some cased, will not appear at all (because the amount has already reached the limit).
Topic sections: if you have limited the amount of topics under content, this will reduce the amount of articles that we post for you as we will only render content that falls into the topic areas. This means that it is possible that content you are looking for is falling under a topic that is not selected under your content settings, and thus we are eliminating it from the mix.
2. Customize the layout: Nice idea! If you don`t mind, please add it as a Feature Request in the other forum (http://support.paper.li/forums/388383-feature-requests-from-the-com...) and invite your readers to vote for it.
3. URL: In the beginning of our service it was possible to have only the username in the URL. We needed to suspend this since we offer multiple papers for each account (up to 10). But "custom URLs" is a feature request we have on our to-do-list.
4. Usually, when you log-in Paper.li, you should see all of your own created and favorites papers under "My Favorites". Please note: You need to be logged-in through the same account you have created the papers with. Can you please try this again?
5. Currently you cannot choose your own topics for a Paper.li, I am sorry.

Is anyone getting some of the same old content that keeps coming back when you update, not just new articles? This has been happening to all my papers lately. If you click on some of the articles you will see many articles are a month or so old. Maybe this is new and supposed to happen now? Secondly-I tried to change my Cleveland paper from weekly to daily and it won't change. It says saved but if I go back in it's back on weekly. Thirdly, at times when I try to change my profile pic I get a message that I need to be signed in but I am. Any help appreciated. I have filled out some tickets but always looking for opinions.
I just started with this but am finding it frustrating too. When I go in it asks me to create a paper (already got one). Even though I'm logged in, I can't get to help (not authorised apparently, and why don't I login?) Trying to get help because I don't know how to use the bookmarklet. It's on my bookmarks bar but now what? I'm getting numerous articles from the same source showing up.
So basically, yes to all the above!

My wife suggested that I take a look at this site thinking it would be a great news aggregator and perhaps that's my problem is that I expect it to act like one. I do love the concept, one stop for all my news in a nicer format than an RSS reader AND letting my peeps know what I'm reading.... is this the essential concept?
Suggestions:
1. I currently have over 20 sources of news... and yet my paper only has 3 articles on it, and two of them are from the same source. Perhaps this is because of the timeliness of their postings? Perhaps we could have a timer on each source so is pulls articles from the last 5 (example) days, but only show the most recent as a headline.
2. The ability to customize the layout like you used to be able to do with yahoos homepage a long time ago (i'm dating myself). and assign a particular source to specific regions of the page.
3. I was really hoping that I would be able to bookmark my page or have it as a homepage when I open my browser...I would expect the page to be at http://paper.li/toddsmeed/ instead it's at http://paper.li/toddsmeed/24235252525 (random numbers). maybe this is a setting that I'm missing???
4. When I log into the paper.li interface, I would expect it to show my my paper(s) and not an offer to create a paper, instead I have to click on my account | paper settings | and then view paper. I REALLY hope this is a setting that I'm missing.
5. Can I group my sources together into categories like your stock new sources? I'm in security so I'd like to see the following:
Headlines | Linux | Windows | Exploits | Governance
Where each one is a collection of sources and the headlines is the newest article from all the sources.
If I've missed some settings and these features already exist I apologize.

After setting it up some 5 months ago and then forgetting about it, it has just started to issue itself to my email (and I'm supposedly the author). Some auto setting appears to be on that I didn't amend. In fact I had to guess the log in as I haven't used it since creation. It has just picked up a facebook posting from this morning. How odd. It doesn't appear easy to use or edit or amend or do what you need to do to create a newspaper.
Thanks if you can stop it sending automatically. Why can't you click to tell it the frequency of issue. Is there a way for people to sign up?

Hi, I have created a paper and I love the concept however I don't like the content the paper is creating. And some of it is quite negative on my topic. I would like to change the settings so as to hopefully draw in other content. I'd also like to add my own rss feeds and feeds from other blogs I like. I have tried to log but it just wants me to log in via facebook or twitter and then doesn't take me anywhere to edit after that. Can you please advise me? THanks Ludwina

We do our best to keep all of our publishers up to date with issues. We are still quite a small team, so please excuse us if we can't get back to you as quickly as we would like to.
We are looking into why the bookmarklet is acting up and gathering urls from users who are experiencing issues to understand why.If you have sent us URLs already, thank you. I agree the idea is great, but what good is it if you can't put what you want in it consistently and in a timely fashion?
I found the bookmarklet to work inconsistently. I was using it earlier this morning and now it's not working (javascript void error). It is extremely frustrating when you are trying to update your edition before your readers get to it. I love the idea of this paper but the basic tools need to work consistently. I've tried re-saving to my favorites bar but nothing works.
Having the Same issue as the previous 2 comments. I provide a clear question with the sites that I had difficultly linking to my newsletter via the Paper.li widget. If I didn't have a pressing deadline for Friday it wouldn't be so frustrating. And what makes if extremely frustrating is you customer tech support sends me back questions about not knowing what I had an issue with duh? It is as though the tech support is giving the runaround because they don't have an answer - which is a waste of my time. I have attached a screen shot of the error which occurs when I attempt to add a blog article on to my Cable & Cable Alternatives newsletter.
Now it says I don't have access to the Publish It help! And no results found for a search of my RSS Feed to my blog!
