Acceptable Use Policy for Email Invitations to Subscribe

We want to do everything we can to make your Pro paper a success!  Sending invitations to your contacts to view and subscribe to your paper is one way to increase readership, subscribers, and engagement in general.

However, we count on the integrity of our Pro publishers to not abuse the service.

Prohibited Actions

You may not:

  • send spam.  We use the definition of spam found on the Spamhaus website, i.e. “unsolicited bulk email” or send emails that violate CAN-SPAM Laws.
  • upload or send to purchased lists, rented lists, or third-party lists of any kind.
  • send emails to a contact list that you have not personally screened.    In other words, if you have a list of emails in your contacts, send with care and attempt to weed out non-working emails.

Limits on invites per day

You are allowed up to one session per 24 hours (per publisher account).  A session can include up to 10 emails.

We have these limits to prevent a user from accidentally slowing down the email service if there are a large number of bounces. A high bounce rate impacts our rating with our email service, which in turn slows down the rate we are allowed to send email invites.

When sending out your invites, we kindly ask our publishers to be sure to screen their email lists by reviewing them to eliminate any outdated contacts.
