Send out automated promo-posts directly from your Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn account every time the paper is updated.
You can activate/de-activate automated promo-posts on Twitter, Facebook, or Linkedin by going to your Social Media Settings. There, under both "Share new article on.." and "Share webpage update on...",
You will find a link, set by default to "automated," but can also read "manual" if the setting has been changed.
As long as the setting is set to "automated," that share type for each Social Media Channel, will automatically send with each new published paper edition.
All publishers can promote their papers and the top article to Twitter. But only Pro publishers can promote their paper and top article to Facebook and Linkedin.
Multiple Facebook or Twitter accounts: Have we automatically connected your paper to promote to the "wrong" account? No worries! Simply turn OFF that social media channel in your settings. Then, visit facebook.com or twitter.com in another tab and sign yourself out.
Return to your paper's Social Media settings, and turn the channel back ON, in order to sign in to the correct account.
-------------------------------------------------------------
In order for paper.li to post to a promotion channel, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin all grant paper.li what is called an "access token", which gives us permission to post on your behalf. Each social channel has their own rules regarding when the token permission expires.
- Linkedin tokens expire after 60 days, when user revokes permission, or when password is changed.
- Twitter tokens expire when user revokes or password is changed
- Facebook tokens expire after 60 days, when user revokes permission or when password is changed.
When your token expires, we will send you an email letting you know that you will need to turn off and back on the promotion channel in order to re-authenticate your permissions.
