    Hello,

Unfortunately, the order of the topics can not be customized.

    Kind regards, Julia

Not even in PRO edition? I would like to define my own categories, and choose an order in the header, but also when I scroll I want to change order in categories. I would also want to pick by hand articles and put them in a specific category, because it seems to me the engine that is doing this it's not working well. Thx.

    Hi Ecompedia,

No, sorry to say that even in the Pro edition, the ability to move around the topic section menus is not available.

Feel free to make this suggestion on the Features Request Forum.

    Hi,

Is there any way to fix the above?  PaperLi is a good idea that allows people to curate content, but this is a MASSIVE limitation.  I just hired someone to do the CSS for the site and just assumed that in the Pro Version this would be possible? I can't believe that you can't change the headings?  I've basically spent money now and realised the most important and crucial aspects of personalising your paper do not exist?

Is there any view on changing this?

    @ Dr. Weyers,

Paper.li is constantly evolving to meet our user's needs.  We've added many feature improvements, bug fixes, and are continually working hard to optimize the quality of the content we bring in.

It is entirely possible that in the coming year we will roll out the ability to eliminate the topics altogether or add the ability to edit them.  I continue to communicate to the product development team that this is what our users want and need.

But at this time, I can't give any date due to the fact that there are other improvements, bug fixes and optimizations that users have asked for ahead in the queue.

    Best, Julia

I agree that this is a huge limitation. the categories are actually meaningless. It would be better if you removed them altogether rather than have not have a function to edit them.

You guys should look into this at the earliest.

    Thanks.

Just want to bring up this post again - is this a feature that will not be implemented soon? I've got to make this choice for 4-6 papers (industry specific) in which these categories make no sense at all. I see paper.li as a quick fix instead of designing similar systems with a CMS such as wordpress, however if I can't customize to this level it is somewhat useless, or at least you neglect a huge part of your market that would like to use the service for industry specific news. Editing the categories can't be such an effort from my understanding?

    Dear Publishers:

Just wanted to let you know that we are now giving Pro publishers the ability to customize or rename their default topics.  Find out more  here!

    Kind regards,

    Julia

I see that PRO members can rename the categories or topics, however, I still like to change the order. How can I make the business category show first? Is this possible yet?

Is there now a way to rearrange topics (it's 3 years later from the original post)? Also, I have customized our topic names based on our needs, however when hovering over the renamed topic the existing name still pops up which makes it super confusing for our readers.  For exampe, we renamed the "Crime" category to "Rebranding South Side" but now when you hover over our new name a little black pop up shows up with "Crime" still there. Is there a way to turn this off? Please help!!!!

    Hi Chicago Bungalow Association,

I'm sorry, but paper sections are automatically sorted and displayed in descending order by the amount of content they contain and cannot be rearranged.

Please note that only you as the signed in editor of your paper see the original section name in the tooltip. Your readers (as well as you if you're signed out) don't see a tooltip at all.
