    Hi!

When you change your URL, the post text in your tweet does not automatically update. I've corrected the post text in your settings so that it now shows your new custom URL.

Now that I've done that, paper.li will go back to adding the edition id parameter automatically to your URL. If you notice, the tweets from before your paper was pro all had that long edition id number at the end. That's what's needed in order for twitter to pull the most updated image!

From now on, with the correct URL in the tweet, it should work as expected.

Hi Julia, I'm having the same issue. However, my tweets with my custom subdomain aren't pulling in the edition id parameter at the end so each daily tweet of the new paper just goes to my subdomains' homepage url and not to that specific paper edition url. It also means the headline image that goes with the tweet is always the same. Can you help http://lchfnews.biohackerslab.com and https://twitter.com/biohackerslab.com as a reference of issue with tweets since going pro.

    Hi Gary and Sam,

Your case is slightly different. :) You have entered the URL http://www.biohackerslab.com/lchf-diet-experts-news/ in the auto promote redirect field.

The assumption is that if you use that field, you prefer to promote on social media your third party site that includes your paper embed instead of the paper URL itself. Is that what you are intending?

If that's the case, this means that you must go to Paper Settings Dashboard > Social Media Agent to turn OFF and then back ON the toggle switch(s) for any of the channels you have activated. in order to update the URL in your default auto-promote text to http://www.biohackerslab.com/lchf-diet-experts-news/.

If you don't wish to drive traffic from twitter to http://www.biohackerslab.com/lchf-diet-experts-news/ and would prefer to drive traffic to your paper URL directly, then you can remove the URL in Auto-promote redirect and the edition id will then be automatically added.

Let me know if I can clarify in any way....

Hi Julia, I want to drive traffic to the new custom subdomain where we are hosting the paper now which is http://lchfnews.biohackerslab.com/ and not the page on the www subdomain which is http://www.biohackerslab.com/lchf-diet-experts-news/

I have now removed that URL in auto-promote redirect. I hope this helps to append the edition id parameter on the new subdomain links that go out each day with the Social Media Agent > Share we newspaper option that I have setup. Could you take a look and see if that looks correct to you please.

    Hi Gary and Sam,

It looks absolutely correct and I notice that the latest tweet now has the edition id correctly added, which means the correct image is showing! All good?

Hi Julia, yes the last two days of tweets are now adding the daily edition id to my custom subdomain url. I'm so glad you answered here as after a week I couldn't figure out why and things were looking messy in my Twitter profile and bad for user experience. I do have one more issue. My old paper.li url archive edition links are not redirecting to the same edition on my custom subdomain. For example in this tweet is an archive edition paper.li url link https://twitter.com/biohackerslab/status/795302967641600000 I was hoping these old links would 301 redirect to the new subdomain edition id or is that not going to happen?

Gary and Sam, The example you gave me... it is going to the current edition since there is no edition id added in the original tweet. Are there a lot of older tweets that have the incorrect URL? If there are not many, you can simply edit the tweet itself directly in twitter. Be sure to include the edition id. You can find the full url with edition id included by visiting your archives (the link to the right of the date). If you click on the date, you'll get the full url with edition id included.
